Understanding Generations

Get to know the Four Generations

Traditionalists

Traditionalists

Born before 1946, Traditionalists value hard work and have respect for authority. They are loyal, fiscally conservative and patriotic. Traditionalists often pay for purchases with cash and save their money.

Traditionalists

Baby Boomers

Born between 1946 and 1964, Baby Boomers come from large families and learned early on to share and play nice with others. They are generally optimistic, competitive, and team-oriented. They are dedicated, have strong work ethics and question authority.

Traditionalists

Gen X

Born between 1965 and 1981, Gen Xs pride themselves on their independence. They are flexible and thrive on change. Technology-literate Gen Xs think globally, like to have fun at work, and appreciate a balance between life and work.

Traditionalists

Gen Y

Born between 1982 and 2000, Gen Ys make up the most technology-literate generation. They are globally-oriented, street smart, and environmentally conscious. They focus on achievement and volunteer in their communities.
